Privacy policy

1. About this policy

This policy explains what information the Agroholic app collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to run the app. We do not sell your information. Some cards and listings are paid for by companies and are labelled Sponsored; sponsors see only totals, never who you are.

2. What we collect

• Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code.
• Your profile: name, role, where you are based, the countries and sectors you follow, and your profile photo if you add one.
• Your phone number, only if you add it.
• What you create: Community questions, answers and comments (with any photo), likes and saved items, the people you block, business listings, the files you attach, and the alerts you set up.
• The app language you choose, so we can send you notifications and messages in it.
• Your interest in new features: whether you tapped I'm interested on the Business page, with your country.
• How you use the supplier directory: when you open the Business page, view a supplier's profile or tap its website.
• Basic technical information needed to keep you signed in and the app working.

Agroholic does not use your location (your phone's region setting is only used to suggest your country), your contacts or your camera, and it uses no outside advertising or tracking tools.

3. How we use it

To run your account and sign you in; to show news, prices and alerts for the countries and sectors you choose; to show your name and posts in Community; to list businesses in the directory; to understand which supplier features people want; and to keep Agroholic safe, for example by reviewing listings and removing posts that break our terms.

4. Who can see what

• Everyone using Agroholic: your name, role, country and profile photo next to your Community posts, and approved business listings.
• Only you: your email, your phone number, your followed countries and sectors, your saved items, your alerts and the people you block.
• The Agroholic team can see information when needed to run and protect the service, for example to review listings.

5. Services we use

Your information is stored and the app is run on Supabase (database, sign-in, file storage and sending sign-in emails). To translate news stories into English and Arabic we send the stories, which are already public, to an AI translation service; none of your personal information is sent with them. These providers process information only to provide their service to us.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. News stories are removed after 30 days unless someone saved, liked or commented on them, and alerts after 30 days. When you delete your account (see below) your information is deleted.

7. Your choices

• Change your name, photo, phone, email, countries, sectors and role in My profile.
• Turn alerts on or off in My alerts.
• Delete your account at any time in My profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, profile, profile photo, phone number, saved items, likes, comments, the people you blocked, your business listing and the files you attached. Questions and answers you posted in Community stay so the discussion still makes sense, shown as "Agroholic member" without your name or photo. Directory totals stay, with no link to you.

You can also write to us to ask for a copy of your information or for it to be corrected or deleted.

8. Security

Your information is sent over encrypted connections. Your phone number and supplier files are stored privately and can be opened only by the people allowed to see them, through links that expire after a few minutes.

9. Children

Agroholic is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Agroholic changes. When we make important changes we will tell you in the app. The date at the top shows the latest version.
