News
Where does the news come from?
From agriculture and livestock publishers, official bodies such as WOAH, and news searches for the Gulf, Middle East and North Africa. New stories arrive every 30 minutes. Tap Read on … to open the full story on the publisher's site.
Why are some stories translated?
Arabic and French stories are translated into English so everyone can read them. Tap Show original under the summary to see the original wording.
Why does a story only have a headline?
Some publishers share only the headline. Tap Read on … to read the full story on their site.
How do I see news from other regions?
On the News tab, tap the region button at the top (My countries, Gulf, Middle East, North Africa…). Use the search icon to find stories by word, in English, Arabic or French.
Market prices
Where do the prices come from?
From official and trusted sources: daily Egyptian market reports (Agri2day), the European Commission (weekly), the World Food Programme for the Levant, Iraq, Yemen and Sudan (monthly), FAO (monthly and yearly) and the World Bank (monthly world prices). Each price shows its source.
Why are some prices monthly or yearly?
Each source publishes at its own pace. The label under each price says whether it is daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, and when it was recorded.
Why is my country not in the list?
We show countries with a reliable, regular source. We add more countries as we find good sources. Tell us which ones matter to you through Contact us.
Alerts
What alerts will I get?
Disease alerts when a story reports an outbreak, cases or an import ban (bird flu, foot-and-mouth, Newcastle disease, lumpy skin and others), and price alerts when a price moves sharply: 5% or more for daily and weekly prices, 10% or more for monthly prices.
Why is the alert on Today from another country?
Today shows the newest alert for your home country and the countries you follow. When there is none, it shows one from your region, and otherwise the newest alert from anywhere.
